From becoming the first woman in Tarrant County to practice industrial real estate, to emerging as the highest industrial producer in the region during her tenure with Henry S. Miller Company, Karen consistently broke barriers in a field dominated by men.
Her journey carried her through leadership roles with R.E. Group Advisors, Polo Club Enterprises Inc., the Woodmont Company, Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services, TIG Real Estate Services Metroplex West, and later as Managing Partner of Emersons Commercial Real Estate in Fort Worth.

With more than three decades of brokerage experience, Karen has established herself as one of the most influential figures in commercial real estate across the Dallas–Fort Worth region. She has served as the President and Managing Partner of the Tarrant County division of Emersons Commercial Real Estate, specializing in office, retail, industrial, and land transactions involving both leasing and sales. Throughout her career, she has consistently broken barriers and created new opportunities for women in the industry. She made history as the first woman in Tarrant County to practice industrial real estate and became the first female broker recognized as the highest industrial producer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during her tenure with Henry S. Miller Company (now Grubb & Ellis).
Her professional journey began after earning her brokerage license and joining Henry S. Miller Company in 1982, where she became the first woman to lead a commercial division within the organization. From 1982 to 1989, she served as Senior Vice President of the industrial and land division. Between 1990 and 2000, she held leadership positions as President of R.E. Group Advisors, Polo Club Enterprises Inc., and the industrial and land division of the Woodmont Company.
Karen later joined Bradford Commercial Real Estate Services as Executive Vice President and Managing Partner, where she served successfully from 2001 to 2014. She subsequently became President and Principal of TIG Real Estate Services Metroplex West from 2014 to 2016. In addition to her corporate leadership, she played a pioneering role in establishing the first women’s organization dedicated to women in commercial real estate, known as the Commercial Real Estate Women’s Organization.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Karen has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service and industry development. She is a lifetime member of the Urban Land Institute and has actively contributed to organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, the advisory board of Adrian College of Texas Christian University, and the Jewel Charity Ball, a charitable initiative supporting children’s healthcare.
Academically, Karen earned a bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in American history from Texas Christian University.
Over the years, her remarkable contributions have earned her widespread recognition, including being named among the Top 100 People in Real Estate Magazine, one of the Most Influential Women in Texas, and one of the Greatest Women of Texas. She made history as the first woman in Tarrant County to practice industrial real estate and became the first female broker recognized as the top industrial producer in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during her tenure with Henry S. Miller.
Recognized for her market expertise, leadership, and industry insight, Karen has frequently contributed to national real estate publications and local business media as both a columnist and trusted industry voice. Her professional accomplishments and civic involvement have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition in The Business Press “Who’s Who in Business” as a Decision Maker and Heavy Hitter in Tarrant County, along with two nominations for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Newsmaker Award for Civic Involvement.
Among her many achievements, Karen was ranked the #4 Heavy Hitter in land brokerage by the Dallas Business Journal and was honored as one of the Great Women of Texas in 2001. She was also selected to oversee the disposition of Albertsons’ closed grocery stores throughout the DFW market. During her time at Bradford Companies, she earned the title of Top Producer in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2008.
In recognition of her outstanding leadership and impact, Karen Simon was honored as Businesswoman of the Year by the Texas State Women’s Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and was later named one of the Most Influential Women in Texas by the National Diversity Council in 2011.
